Positive response is an important tool that allows member utilities to communicate the status of a locate request directly with the excavator. Kentucky 811's Locator Tickets software and the Kentucky 811 app make providing electronic positive response free and easy for KY 811 members!

The Positive Response Loop

Positive response's ability to provide full-circle communication increases clarity and reduces the chance of a damage occurring. Each stakeholder plays an important role in the positive response loop.

Getting Set Up to Participate in Positive Response is Simple

Whether you respond to locate requests with Locator Tickets, your own ticket management system, or a combination, our team makes getting set up to participate in electronic positive response convenient and easy.

If you're already a KY 811 member, simply send us an email and we'll have the positive response capabilities added to your account.

⊕ Current KY 811 Members NOT Using Locator Tickets

As a member, you can access Locator Tickets for free! Send us an email and mention that you'd like to participate in positive response. We'll get your organization set up to participate.

If you prefer not to use Locator Tickets, a connection can be set up between Kentucky 811 and your existing system to allow positive response to be posted in real time for excavators. Alternatively, you can use Locator Tickets in conjunction with your current system just to post positive response.
