Kentucky 811 is excited to announce the 2026 Calendar Photo Contest! We are inviting amateur photographers to capture and submit photos that showcase the quintessential beauty and spirit of Kentucky. The top 12 photos will be featured in our official 2026 calendar. Additionally, the top three winners, chosen by our panel of judges, will receive prizes. See below for the official submission guidelines and rules.

On October 22, 2025, Kentucky 811 members gathered at the 2025 Safety Connection and voted on incoming KY811 Board members for 2026. There was also a vote amongst the board for finishing terms. Together, the Board looks forward to welcoming five new members in 2026!

In July 2022, historic floods washed over Whitesburg and Hindman, destroying physical memories and ruining structures with over five feet of water. Unfortunately, the Bluegrass state is no stranger to weather-inflicted disasters, but the people here are built with resilience and never fail to act quickly in helping one another recover.

Earlier this year, Kentucky 811 hosted the inaugural Drive Fore Supplies Golf Scramble to raise funds to purchase and donate vital school supplies to a local elementary school located in an underserved community in honor of 811 Day on August 11. The success of this effort is thanks to our golf scramble participants and fellow sponsors, including the Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC). Some of the generous sponsors can be found below.
